Walmart runs some crazy produce deals on occasion. You can always tell when a super big deal is running, because the locals raid the stand and clear it out fast. One thing I’ve learned is that it is not unusual to peel your corn before you buy it. I’m not sure if this is to reduce the final weight of the product you buy, or if they feel it is just easier to get the mess done in the store, instead of at home! Either way…you will find trash cans next to a large display of corn, such as this!

They always had those trashcans by the corn at the Walmart in AZ too! I was also so surprised to see people shucking their corn in the store!
really!? My sister said that they also do the same thing in Georgia! Perhaps it is because they know that some people will want to dig in and check out the corn, so they may as well provide trash cans?!
