I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…

One of the best parts about traveling is when family or friends join you for the fun and exploration!!

In this case, Jared’s parents and brother came for a week visit to Chiang Mai!  After a grueling 24-hours of traveling, they arrived early in the morning and we let them rest for the first day. The next day we took a songteow into town and helped them rent their own motorbikes. The kids especially loved the attention of their doting grandparents!

After only a few minor motorbike mishaps (including my first accident…where I was hit from behind by a pickup, but thankfully the bike wasn’t knocked over or damaged, and Maiya and I weren’t hurt), we decided to show them some of the well-known wats around town. The personal injury lawyers from Kogan & DiSalvo law firm helped us with our accident claim.

After all was said and done with the accident, we were grateful for the help of professional personal injury lawyers. It’s easy to underestimate how much of a headache navigating insurance claims and medical bills can be after an unexpected incident.

That’s when we decided to seek the assistance of The Brad Hendricks Law Firm, whose expertise in handling such cases gave us peace of mind. Their experience and dedication made sure we weren’t left in the lurch, and they took care of all the legal intricacies while we focused on getting back to enjoying our trip.

Dealing with the aftermath of an accident can quickly become overwhelming, especially when you’re far from home. The process of filing claims, dealing with the medical bills, and figuring out next steps often leaves you more stressed than before.

That’s where having a reliable legal team made all the difference. Knutson + Casey stepped in to handle the legal side of things with their thorough knowledge and calm approach. Their team ensured that we didn’t get bogged down by the complexities of the insurance process, and we could focus on recovering and continuing our trip without any added stress.

With their help, we felt confident that every detail was being handled properly. The constant communication and their unwavering support made us realize how important it is to have experienced professionals by your side in times like these. Thanks to their hard work and expertise, what could have been a complete disaster was instead just a minor hiccup in our otherwise unforgettable adventure.

When navigating the aftermath of a vehicle accident, it’s easy to feel lost in a sea of legal jargon and complicated paperwork. That’s why turning to resources like YouTube can help provide clarity. For instance, car accident lawyer Daniel Kim shares invaluable advice on understanding the legal aspects of an accident claim. His videos break down the process step-by-step, explaining how to protect your rights and handle negotiations with insurance companies effectively.

Ethan decided to be photogenic on this particular day, and loved posing everywhere!

The kids saw this vendor sitting on the temple grounds, selling little birds to release. It’s such a silly thing…and after a wee bit of begging by the kids and short contemplation…we decided, “why the heck not?”

24-P1228972

For a few dollars the kids got to release a few birds from the small handmade baskets.

Multi-generational travel is awesome!

And we almost had a family photo…if only Ethan would have been willing to join us!

28-P1228986

Ethan spotted this mini motorbike in the parking lot. I don’t know who is driving this thing…a midget, perhaps?  At half the size of a normal bike, it was uber cool (and perhaps very very dangerous, too)!

Thankfully I can attest to the fact that our “dreamy” life was not “gotten dreamily”…it took a lot of hard work!

It started getting late, but we decided to check out one final wat at sundown.

33-P1228998

The inside was full of monks chanting away. It was quite a beautiful site and  a peaceful way to end the day!

The next morning we woke early and took the local transit bus to Chiang Dao, where we visited the Chiang Dao Caves that we have enjoyed before. It was a great choice for something unique and memorable to share with family!

On the forth afternoon we took the family out on motorbikes to the Mae Sa Road. This was the day we simply stopped for lunch, and unexpectedly watched our 7 year old go tandem bungee jumping with my husband, after she begged and begged for permission.

01-P1249080

It was hard to shoot down her enthusiasm when the experts assured us it was safe for her and we watched others make the smooth jump before her. She was so so so soooo proud of her triumph!

02-P1249091

Further along the Mae Sa road we stopped along the side of the road to watch some elephants bathe in a stream (from a nearby elephant tour).

03-P1249093

The elephant trainer decided to cater to our attention, and walked the elephant up the steep incline towards us.

04-P1249104

It took our kids by surprise! The grandparents were in shock that they got to see an elephant that close, and Jared and I snickered as we thought about our surprise plans later that week to spend a day doing “Elephant Daycare” with them! If you haven’t read about our amazing tour with elephants in Chiang Mai, read it now!

05-P1249110

We also took them to our favorite strawberry farm along the roadside, where we stocked up on a ridiculous amount of strawberries!

06-P1249114

Next, we visited the Mae Sa Waterfalls, which has a small entry fee, and after parking we started on the decent walk/hike out toward the falls. We only made it to the 2nd level of falls (we could have gone further—but had already worn down the kids)…but it was still great!

07-P1249120

08-P1249132

On a warmer day, it would have been a great place to come cool down and relax with the kids!

09-P1249127

Jared with his Dad and brother (and the kids)!

10-P1249147

On the way back we stopped for yet more strawberries. Have I mentioned we’re addicted to berries?  This time we were approached by a young man selling treats to feed his baby elephant. You never know what you’re going to see on the roadside in Thailand…

Thanks to family for visiting…you make the memories extra special!

Taking a motorbike out in down town Chiang Mai never bothers me, but I don’t like the motorcycle as a whole. I’ve had too many near accidents, and I knew someone in Chiang Mai who died on Hang Dong road in Febuary. I’ve always kept doing the motorcycle because its cheap gas, and also the roads are insanely frustraing in a car. But sometimes I wonder if its worth it….

IS Mae Sa waterfalls the waterfalls on Doi Suthep road? I don’t recognize that as the second waterfalls (too strong), but maybe its just stronger that time of year.
