But seriously…don’t you think so?

I love the gigantic trees that are in the center of all of the roundabouts in the La Floresta area of Ajijic. A friend once gave me directions to her house, and told me to turn left at the 2nd tree. I thought, “what? Not the second street…but the 2nd tree?”  I followed her instructions and then realized that the trees marks the streets. They are GIGANTIC, and create an ambiance that I cannot explain. It was so sad to see one damaged earlier this summer, and to watch the workers chop it down bit by bit. There is now nothing left here except for an old gigantic tree stump (it would be interesting to go count the rings on that…maybe another day!).  This tree had knocked down power lines, and definitely posed a threat to nearby homes on the corners.

It made me sad. BOO HOO!

I hope to never see another La Floresta tree cut down!

  1. I just visited your blog for the first time and have enjoyed reading your posts and your story…. sounds wonderful! We visited some friends in Ajijic this past winter and loved it there. We’re getting ready to sell our home in Oregon and hit the road indefinitely. Can’t wait!
